Regenerative Innovations for Visitor Attractions

Session Description

In 2024, Breda University of applied sciences (BUas) joined the attractions industry on its mission to make the world of themed entertainment brighter and more sustainable. Third year students of the track Attractions & Theme Parks Management worked on their Industry Challenge: a student-driven innovation project on sustainability together with an industry partner organization.

This resulted in over 30 different green retrofitting ideas related to energy-efficient attraction operations, waste management innovations, sourcing re-usable theming items, improving staff well-being and sustainable reporting.

In this session we will outline the co-creative stakeholder approach that students follow to analyze, design and implement regenerative ideas and innovations in visitor attractions. We will highlight the best ideas and invite you to join us in the Industry Challenge 2026!
