Bloodborne Pathogen Training for the Attractions Industry

Course Description

Having a job within the attractions industry means being around a lot of people. This also means you may occasionally experience a situation in which you come into contact with bloodborne pathogens (BBP) and/or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM), putting you at risk of contracting potentially deadly or incurable diseases. The contents of this course will teach you what bloodborne pathogens are and how exposure occurs so that you can help protect yourself, coworkers, and guests at your facility.

This is a must-have safety course for new hires and current employees alike, as OSHA requires bloodborne pathogen training to be provided annually if they are in a role that exposes them to risk.

Course Objectives

  • Define bloodborne pathogens and the three common diseases associated with them
  • Develop an exposure control plan to train and outline BBP procedures at an attraction
  • Identify ways to prevent and mitigate exposure
  • Perform the appropriate steps to safely clean up a blood spill
